Aligning learning objectives to courses

This feature has limited availability and works only with Classic Mastery. It does not work with District Mastery.
If you are a system administrator, contact your Schoology representative to activate this feature for your organization.

You can add learning objectives to courses after a system administrator adds the Course Learning Objective permission.

Add learning objectives at the course level

  1. Select Courses.

  2. Select My Courses.

  3. Select the edit (pencil) icon for the selected course.

  4. From the Target Objectives section, click Select Objectives for Course.

  5. Browse learning objective sets, and then choose an objective to add to the course. You can also search for the objective by title.

  6. Select Add Learning Objective.

  7. Optionally, click Selected to review the objectives you've already added to the course.

  8. Select Save Changes.

Review learning objectives aligned to a course

After you align learning objectives to the course, select Course Objectives in a course section to review them.

The Course Objectives include the:

  • title of each learning objective, and identifies whether it is a Target or Other. Target refers to objectives assigned at the course level, and Other refers to objectives aligned only to course materials.

  • total number of graded materials aligned to each objective in the section.

  • learning objective description, and includes the names of aligned materials in the section and links to those materials.

While learning objectives can be aligned for all materials in a course, only graded materials are displayed.
