Using the elementary experience on the iOS mobile app - students (enterprise)

  • Let your teacher know if the elementary experience doesn't display for your course.
  • To take advantage of all Schoology features, users should upgrade to the latest version of iOS. Schoology only supports the latest three versions of iOS. When Apple releases a new version of Android, Schoology no longer supports the oldest version it previously supported.
  • You will be prompted to allow access to the camera, microphone, and files on your device when you access any elementary-themed course for the first time on the mobile app. You must enable these to submit an assignment. If you did not initially allow access, search for the Schoology app on your device settings and manually allow access. You will not be prompted to allow access again unless you uninstall the app.
  • Audio assignment submissions are only supported on devices running iOS 14.3 and later.

Elementary experience course view

You can find all your elementary courses from the Courses area on the mobile app. From the main menu, tap Courses, and then tap the course name to navigate to that class.

The elementary experience offers a simplified version of your class where all course content available to you is on the Materials page.

The most important content is displayed as individual cards on the main page. This includes a streamlined navigation menu, folders, and course materials. The navigation menu provides access to My Activities and course apps, with materials arranged in a full-page format.

Your teacher can add images to course materials and folders to help you navigate the course and identify tasks to complete.

Course Materials

The Materials area in your course lists all the assignments, assessments, tests/quizzes, files/links, discussions, and pages your teacher has made available to you.

Your teacher may organize content differently for each class, so the course materials might be listed as soon as you navigate to your course or organized into folders.

Tap the materials or folders to review the content. For example, tap a folder to display a list of all the materials inside.

Materials are displayed in full-screen in the elementary experience.
