Conditional release of materials (controlled availability)

We're adding the ability to automate the assignment of materials to students based on specific conditions that course administrators can define. Teachers will be able to set up enrichment and remedial activities to be assigned to students based on criteria they set for their materials.

Enhanced security for third-party app integrations

We’ve added new security measures to better protect user data across districts. From now on, third-party apps must be approved by Schoology and listed in the Schoology App Center to access data from other districts.

Impersonation (beta)

District admin roles that belong to the district building and have both Administer Users and Administer School permissions can impersonate within their district.

New permission for editing category weights exclusively on Grade Setup page

We are excited to introduce a new permission in Schoology that allows administrators to grant specific roles the ability to edit category weights exclusively on the grade setup page. This feature enhances security and control, ensuring that only authorized individuals can make changes to grading categories.

Updated requirement for accounts using temporary passwords

To enhance security across our platform, we are implementing a new requirement for all accounts. Any existing accounts using a temporary password must update the password upon next login. Administrator and auto-generated passwords are temporary.

PowerBuddy tools enhancements

PowerBuddy tools have been enhanced to include the following:

• Updated the Cancel button to Close for better clarity.

• Added messages to notify users when required fields are left blank.

• Translated PowerBuddy tools into all languages supported by Schoology.

Gradual transition away from the language drop-down menu

The language drop-down menu will be removed from tools throughout the summer. For tools with no drop- down menu, PowerBuddy tools will detect your input language automatically, and you can still choose a different output language if needed.
