When creating rubrics, you can refer to rubric tips for more information.
Define rubric properties

From the main navigation menu, choose Items, then New Rubric.

Enter the Rubric Name and Rubric Description using your district's naming conventions.

Select one or more Course Types.

Select one or more Grade Levels.

Enter the number of Criteria (rows) and Levels of achievement (columns) the rubric requires.

Optionally, create the rubric Exemplar.

If you want to define anchors or next steps for each level of the rubric, select Enable Rubric Cell Level Anchor and Next Steps.

If the rubric will be used in answer key only tests, select Available in Answer Key Only Tests.
Rubrics used in Answer Key Only tests can only have a single criteria row.

Click Save.
Define the criteria levels
You must define criteria for each column and row. You can also add descriptions in the achievement level column.

In the column headers, enter the title and point value for each level of achievement for the rubric.

At the beginning of each row, enter the criterion name.

For each criterion row and level of achievement, enter the Description. If enabled, you can also add Anchors and Next Steps.

Description - Enter the definition of the specific criteria the student must meet to earn this score.

Anchor - Provide an example of a student response that would earn this score.

Next Steps - Describe what students should do to improve this score.
