PowerBuddy for Assessment uses your custom prompt and criteria selections to generate a single multiple-choice item and then adds it to the selected item bank for future test creation.

From the main navigation menu, choose Items, and then New Item.

From Properties, enter an item Title using the naming convention your school or district recommends.

Click Select to choose an item bank. Optionally, use the search to locate an item bank. Your permissions determine the scope of banks from which you can choose.

Choose from the Item Source List.

Select an item bank.

Click Select.

Choose from these optional features for additional item customization.

Enter Tags.

Click Add Standards to include a standard as part of the generation criteria.

Use the search to locate standards by code or description.

Select the desired standards.

Click Done.

Select item Attributes.

Click Notes to include item notes or Next Steps to outline the next steps for the item.

Click Save. The item transitions to In Progress status and generates a unique item ID.

Select Build to add item content.

From the Interactions menu, choose Generate Item.

If you selected more than one standard, choose which standard to include as part of the generation criteria.

Enter a prompt or keywords in Describe your item needs.

Select the Reading level.

Click Generate items.

Select one item option.

Click Add to editor.

Alternatively, change the item description or reading level, and then click Regenerate to generate three new item options.

Optionally, make any desired changes to the item.

Click Save.
An item is automatically locked if the following criteria are met:

An item is added to a test and that test is released to OLA.
-
An item is added to a test and scan sheets for that test are downloaded.
You must contact support if you need to change or update a locked item.
