Attendance

Overview

With the attendance feature, you can:

  • Take attendance for single-day and multiple days.

  • Enter and review comments.

  • Use seating charts to take and review attendance.

  • Review student alerts, absence records, and tardy totals.

  • Sort and group attendance lists.

  • Identify student grade levels.

  • Take attendance across multiple course sections.

Attendance requirements

For macOS and Chrome/Edge users: MacOS Catalina and above are supported only. Users on older macOS versions should upgrade to the latest version or use Firefox/Safari browsers instead.

For Safari users: The privacy setting, Prevent cross-site tracking, must be cleared.

Take attendance

  1. From the Home page, select a course section.

  2. From Attendance, choose an attendance code from the list.

  3. Click a student’s attendance field to apply the code. To take attendance for an entire track or section at once, click Fill Code for the corresponding track.

  4. Optionally, click the attendance field’s comment icon to enter a comment and then click OK.

  5. Click Submit.

Change the date or select a date range

  1. From the Home page, select a course section.

  2. From the date, click the calendar icon.

  3. Select a single date or toggle on Range and choose a date range.

  4. Click Apply.

  5. Take or review attendance for the selected days.

  6. Click Submit.

For courses with linked sections, choose a section from the list to take attendance.

Edit attendance

  1. From the Home page, select a course section.

  2. From the attendance list or seating chart, click the student’s attendance field to remove the existing code.

  3. Click the field again and select the correct code.

Use seating charts

Seating charts are available from Attendance to review and take attendance. You cannot create new seating charts from Attendance.

Take attendance from a seating chart

  1. From the Home page, select a course section.

  2. From Attendance, click the Seating Chart icon.

  3. Choose an attendance code from the list.

  4. Click the student’s attendance field to apply the code.

  5. Optionally, click the attendance field’s comment icon to enter a comment and then click OK.

  6. Click Submit.

Review a different seating chart

This option is only available if multiple seating charts have been created for the section.

  1. From the Home page, select a course section.

  2. Click the Seating Chart icon.

  3. Choose an option from the seating chart list.

Sort and display options

Click Settings (gear icon) to adjust how the attendance list displays. You can:

  • Show multiple sections

  • Group by track

  • Sort by first name

  • Show grade level

  • Select a language

Review student alerts

If alerts are available for a student, an alert icon appears with their name. Click the icon to view details.
