Text Editor Accessibility Checker
The Presence Accessibility Checker allows you to check the content you are creating for any possible accessibility issues such as images that are missing alt text, text that is unreadable and more. When enabled, the Accessibility Checker is available for all editors on your site whether you are editing content, creating alerts, setting up form templates or any other changes that incorporate an editor.

What the Accessibility Checker Covers
The Accessibility Checker covers a wide range of possible accessibility issues that may occur with your content. The tests look for things like missing labels, deprecated HTML tags that are not accessible and other common issues that can arise when creating content.

Please be aware that while the Accessibility Checker is able to check for a wide range of possible violations, it does not test for every possible accessibility issue. Some possible issues may also require you to manually evaluate whether the flagged accessibility rule is being properly followed or not.
Using the Accessibility Checker
With the Accessibility Checker enabled, whenever you are using an editor in Presence, the content you are working with will be checked by the Accessibility Checker. Any issues that are detected will be flagged and a message will appear at the top of the editing window.
To see the flagged violations, click the accessibility icon. Please note that you must click the icon in the toolbar rather than the one that appears in the warning message.
A window will open summarizing the violation(s) that have been detected. Click Fix for a given error to see more details and information on how to resolve the issue.
In the expanded message, you will see the following information:
Issue: A description of the issue being flagged. You can click the More Details link to learn more information on why the issue is being flagged and the reason the particular accessibility rule exists.
Impact: Depending on what the accessibility violation is the impact will be listed as Critical, Serious, Moderate, or Minor.
HTML: The specific HTML where the accessibility issue is found.
Fix: Below the HTML you will see information on how you can fix the issue. In some cases (such as an image missing alt text) you will see an option that allows you to fix the problem directly within the Accessibility Checker. Otherwise, you will be told that you will need to fix the issue manually. Depending on the issue being described you may be able to fix this using the editor toolbar options, or you may need to switch to HTML and resolve the issue within the code itself.
Solutions: What is being flagged and what the expected requirement is to pass the check.
Fixing Flagged Issues
When you click Fix for a problem, you may be able to fix the issue within the Accessibility Checker or you may have to fix it directly withing the editor. Once you click Fix you will see one of two things.
Fixing Problems Within the Accessibility Checker
With some issues, you will be able to take an action directly within the to resolve the issue. In the screenshot, you can see the option to Add ALT text.
Take the action that is required and apply it (such as clicking Apply Alt Text).
Fixing Problems Outside the Accessibility Checker
Some fixes cannot be fixed within the accessibility checker itself. For these instances, after clicking Fix you will be told that you must fix the issue in the editor and given some information to assist you in doing so.
For fixes that need to be addressed within the editor, you can click Close or Back to adjust the flagged item.
Confirming Issues are Resolved
The checker continues to monitor the content you are working with in real time so as soon as you fix a violation, it will be removed from the list of violations being flagged.
Once there are no issues remaining, the warning message will stop being displayed. You can still click the accessibility icon in the editor when the warning is not being displayed, but it will tell you that no errors have been found.
Publishing Content
While you are able to publish your content even while one or more accessibility issues are being flagged, we strongly recommend that you review and resolve any issues that are being detected.
