PowerBuddy is part of the paid Curriculum & Instruction solution. PowerBuddy for Curriculum & Instruction provides access to generative AI within the text editor while creating lesson plans or curriculum maps.
Activate PowerBuddy
Before using PowerBuddy, you must activate it for your entire organization.

From the Admin menu, choose Organization Settings.

Go to the PowerBuddy Settings tab.

Choose to turn on content generation for curriculum maps and lesson plans.
After you activate PowerBuddy, the PowerBuddy AI Creator role will be available to assign to staff. Staff must have the PowerBuddy AI Creator role to use PowerBuddy.
PowerBuddy allotment balance
On the PowerBuddy Settings tab, choose Review balance to review your district’s PowerBuddy allotment usage.
PowerBuddy allotment usage provides an overview of your organization’s AI activity each year. Usage is shown for informational purposes only, with no maximum limits applied.
AI usage from all PowerSchool products with PowerBuddy integrations is combined and displayed in one shared overview. For example, in Performance Matters, PowerBuddy for Assessment reflects usage each time you generate or regenerate item content. In Schoology, PowerBuddy for Learning reflects usage each time you generate content for an assignment or discussion. This usage contributes to your overall PowerBuddy allotment balance and is tracked for information only.
Usage count resets yearly on July 1.
