Archived courses
Overview
Courses are associated with grading periods and automatically archived within 24 to 30 hours of the end date. Schoology displays an alert seven days before the end of a grading period.
Course content or enrollments are lost during the archival process.
Instructors can enter grades in archived courses, but grades will only pass back if the grading period is still open to accept grades in your SIS. Contact PowerSchool Support if you need to enter grades after the grading period has passed.
Archived courses are not accessible from the Schoology iOS or Android apps.
Depending on your school or organization's settings, you can review archived courses by selecting Courses, My Courses, and then clicking Archived.
The permission to view submissions must be enabled in the assessment settings so students can review course assessments and manage assessment submissions in archived courses.
Reactivate archived courses
To extend the duration of an archived course that is continuing with the same roster of students and course material, you can reactivate it. To reactivate an archived course, add a grading period. This process may vary based on how your organization provisions courses and enrollments.
System Administrators for the Enterprise version of Schoology can change grading period dates. Changing grading period dates affects all courses in your school or organization associated with the grading period.
