Assessment reports: Evaluating student results by item (AMP)

AMP Assessment Reports

After creating and distributing Managed Assessments, educators can evaluate student results with assessment reports:

  • Item-level results

  • Exporting item-level results

  • Auto-export managed assessment reports

  • Overall results

  • Mastery results

Reports are available for current, inactive, and archived courses.

Access Assessment Reports

  1. Select AMP and choose Assessment Reports.

  2. From the tiled list, browse assessments alphabetically or use the Search Assessments field to find one by name.

  3. Click an assessment title to display its Assessment Summary dashboard.

The dashboard provides high-level item- and student-based data, with options to drill down into detailed reports.

Results may take up to 24 hours to appear after students submit assessments.

Item performance

The Item Performance chart displays:

  • The total number of items in the assessment.

  • Student performance bands (average scores):

    • High (green): Greater than 75%

    • Medium (yellow): Between 50-75%

    • Low (red): Under 50%

The report key also shows the number of students in each band.

If questions are edited after students have submitted attempts, those questions appear as separate items in the report, so the item count may exceed the number of original questions.

Click View Item Performance for a detailed table.

Review item performance

Any edits made to a question after students have attempted the assessment display as separate items in the report upon subsequent submissions.

The Item Performance table lists all items in order from lowest to highest average score, with three columns:

  • Level – performance band (high, medium, low).

  • Item – item prompt (click to display details).

  • Average Score – average score percentage across all students.

Item details

Click an item prompt to display the Item Details report. This includes:

  • Item type – question type.

  • Total points – maximum points available.

  • Item prompt – the question text or stimulus.

  • Aligned learning objectives – any linked objectives.

  • Average score – shown as a percentage with a performance band.

  • Success rate – % of students earning full credit.

  • Number of students – count of students included in the report.

  • Item discrimination – ability of the item to distinguish between higher- and lower-performing students, using Point-Biserial Correlation:

    • Good: 0.3–1.0

    • Fair: 0.1–0.3

    • Poor: -1–0.1

  • Distribution of answers – possible responses, with distractor rationales shown for multiple-choice items.

  • Student responses – student names, alphabetical by last name, and their item scores.
