Personal account: Notifications
Schoology sends you email and text notifications for social, academic, group, and school activity that occur in your account. You can choose which alerts you receive by updating your preferences in Settings.
Email and text message notifications differ from the Notifications menu (bell icon) in the main navigation. Notifications are not customizable. They display information related to course materials and events in chronological order to keep you informed of academic activity.
Customize email notifications
You can enable notifications to receive emails about specific activity from courses and groups in which you're enrolled, your school, and your personal account activity.
Click your name and select Settings.
Select Notifications.
Open the menu for the notification type and select:
On to receive notifications from all sources
Off to not receive any notifications
Custom to pick and choose the sources
Click Save Changes.

School groups notifications
School Groups are created by your school district or organization.

Public groups notifications
Public Groups are open groups created by Schoology based on areas of study and teaching techniques. Based on the settings at your organization, you may not be able to join open groups. Contact your System Administrator with any questions.

Personal notifications
If you receive notifications for Schoology Messages, you can respond to the message directly from the notification in your email.

Turn off email notifications
To turn off all email notifications for your account, click Turn Off All Notifications.
Configure notification settings from a course or group
Click Notification from any course or group to customize email notifications.
Manage text message notifications
Text message notifications are also available for certain actions.
If you live outside of the U.S. or Canada, text message notifications are not yet supported at this time.
Link your mobile phone to Schoology
Click your name and select Settings.
Select Notifications.
Select Send Notifications to Your Phone via Text Message.
Enter your Cell number. Your number remains hidden from other members.
Choose your Country.
Select your Carrier.
Click Set Mobile.
Edit or remove your cell number
Click your name and select Settings.
Select Notifications.
Select Edit for your mobile phone.
Edit the Cell number or select Remove.
If editing, click Set Mobile.
