Using Public Resources
Overview
Public Resources are files, links, course materials, or folders of content shared by other members of the Schoology community. Search our growing database for instructional resources, read comments, and review ratings for each resource. Download the resource into your personal resources and add it to your courses. You can also share any of your personal resources with users around the world.

Share your resources
You can share any of your personal resources with the Schoology Community in Public Resources.
Select Resources.
From your personal resources, click Share in public resources (bookshelf icon) for the item you want to share in public resources.
Complete the form to provide information to Schoology users who may be looking for your research.
Choose a Subject.
Select Make Public. The Resource in your personal collection displays a globe icon.
You cannot make course assessments, test templates, or quiz templates public. Instead, share questions by creating and sharing an item or question bank.
Manage your shared resources
Edit a shared resource
Select Resources.
From your personal resources, click the resource’s Additional options (gear) icon.
Select Edit Public Info.
Edit the information.
Click Update.
If you make a change to the item in your Personal resources, you will also be prompted to update this change in the public version.
Click Update Public Version.
Click Update so that the changes made to your personal version are also updated in the public version of the resource.
Remove a shared resource
Select Resources.
From your personal resources, click the resource’s Additional options (gear) icon.
Select Remove Public Version.
Click Remove.
Browse public resources
To review resources shared by the Schoology global community, select Resources and then choose Public. Educators can enrich their courses by browsing and downloading diverse content. Optionally, filter your search by subject, resource type, level, file format, or highest rated.
Course assessments, tests, and quizzes cannot specifically be added as public resources since they are available to your district, school, or class only. Use this category to search for other assessment-type resources.
Rate resources
Review ratings on resources to gauge the quality and popularity of the resource content and engage with other educators interested in similar content.
Select Resources.
From Public Resources, select the resource to rate.
Click Rate Resource.
Select the level of star you'd like to give the resource. Selecting a high number of stars indicates a higher opinion of the resource.
Optionally, enter a comment.
Click Submit.
Download resources
Download a resource from Public Resources to your Personal Resources.
Select Resources.
From Public Resources, click the resource’s Download icon.
Optionally, add the resource to courses and groups you administer or copy the resource to other resource collections. This saves a copy of the item to the Downloads collection in Personal Resources.
To organize, copy, or move the item to a group or course you administer, navigate to the Downloads collection in your personal resources.
