Building level chat logs

In Schoology Permissions, admins can now give building-level roles access to chat logs and receive flagged chat email notifications limited to the students in the buildings they have access to within Schoology. This enhancement allows building-specific roles to securely access and review past chat interactions, ensuring a transparent communication experience with student safety at the forefront. Chat logs can be accessed from the Schoology homepage after this permission is enabled. Staff can search by student name, filter by course, or search by flagged chats, and download transcripts as needed.

Building level enablement of PowerBuddy for Learning features

With districts having multiple buildings or schools within their district, it’s understood that PowerBuddy may not need to be available for every building or school. You can drill down to your district’s list of schools or buildings and designate which PowerBuddy for Learning features should be available and where.

In PowerBuddy AI Settings, locate District Information Assistant and PowerBuddy for Learning and select Manage school access. Each PowerBuddy for Learning feature has a column that indicates whether PowerBuddy access is available. Admin users can manage set building or school access individually or in bulk.

With this release, access to each PowerBuddy for Learning feature will be enabled by default for all buildings or schools. This is intended to avoid interrupting current clients and their end users' current implementation and process. Administrators can make adjustments as needed.

Course Admin toggle for sensitive content notifications

By default, Schoology Course Admins will receive sensitive content notifications if a student responds to PowerBuddy with inappropriate content or subject. This only applies to the students in the course and is available for the Course Admin. Administrators who prefer that their Course Admins do not receive these types of notifications can now toggle off the Flagged chat notification setting in the PowerBuddy AI Settings page.

PowerBuddy feedback

With this release, the ability to leave feedback will be available when using District Information Assistant.

Updates to PowerBuddy tools

  • A search bar will be added to the PowerBuddy tool list page.

  • One-click examples will be available for tool inputs.
