Select report data

You must select at least one test before data will display. Depending on your role, some selections may be pre-filled according to your access to schools, teachers, and classes.

The Comparative Results report is limited to tests with under 2,000 results. Use filters to refine the results. For larger student populations, use the Baseball Card Report or MyReports.

  1. From the main navigation menu, choose Reports, then choose Comparative Results.

  2. Choose a test.

  3. Optionally, you can choose additional tests for comparison.

  4. Make additional selections as needed:

    1. Choose specific standards. By default, all of the standards on the test are selected. You can also access data for item attributes, including depth of knowledge, complexity, and subject.

    2. Choose from the list of Schools to compare data.

    3. Select one or more Teachers for data comparison. A school must be selected before you can choose teachers.

    4. Select Classes to compare data. A teacher must be selected before you can choose classes.

    5. Click Add Student Filter to set additional student filters to create a more specific data set for the comparative charts.

Review data results

Report data is organized into three tabs:

  • The Comparisons tab provides all the comparative data.

  • The Students tab lists students, their total score, and their scores for individual standards.

  • The Student Groups tab provides standard averages across groups.

The data in these tabs is respective of the applied filters and automatically updates according to changes made in the Refine By section.

  • For teachers, the Comparisons tab displays the students scheduled for your courses that have the same course type as the test (similar to Scoreboard). The Students tab displays all students to whom you have access who have results for the test, regardless of the student's assigned class (for example, students who are scheduled to your homeroom and were administered the test by a different Math teacher). This tab behaves similarly to Baseball Card.

  • The Comparisons population reflects students you have scheduled for this type of test and their performance compared to the district. The Comparisons tab does not include students who are not scheduled for one of your classes for this particular subject area and course type.

  • If you have permission to display all student results on your site, then you can review scores for all students with results in the Students and Student Groups tabs.

  • If any of your students have results for a test administered by another teacher, choose from the Class filter for Comparisons, Students, or Student Groups to display only your scheduled student results.

Comparisons

Displayed data follows the hierarchy in the Refine By section: District, Schools, Teachers, and Classes.

  1. Hover over the Information icon to get more information on that section. For standards, hover over the Information icon to display the standard's description.

  2. Hover over a bar to display more information.

  3. Each bar includes a percentage that reflects the percentage correct for the standard.

  4. The numbers in parenthesis indicate the number of students included in each bar.

  5. The background color of the bar chart is defined by the cut scores set on the local assessment. If multiple assessments are selected, it defaults to the colors defined by the district performance band.

  6. Optionally, you can apply an additional filter. The chart will display a black dashed line comparing the filtered population with the general population. Hover over the line to display information specific to the data point.

If you apply more than one additional filter, the dashed line represents the population of students who have been selected by all filter attributes.

  7. Optionally, click Excel or PDF in the Comparisons tab to download the comparison data.

Students

  1. Select Students to display all students to whom you have access. The table displays the total percent earned on the selected assessment and the percent earned on each standard in the assessment.

If you select more than one test, the Total Score column is removed from the Students tab, and the cut scores default to the colors defined by the district performance band.

  2. Optionally, choose from the Sort By options to change the student sorting.

  3. Optionally, click the descending icon to change the order of the results.

  4. Hover over a standard code to display the full standard description.

  5. Click on a student's name to navigate to the Student Detail page.

  6. Optionally, click Excel to review, sort, and print the data in Excel.

Student Groups

  1. Select Student Groups.

  2. Choose a Group Type to display the standard averages for the relevant groups. The available Group Types reflect the filter security of your user role. Each row represents aggregate values for the data in the group.
