Group resources

Overview

Group Resources is a centralized location for shared materials from all groups you belong to, including School Resources. If you're not a member of any groups or haven't selected your school, the resources list will appear empty.

While there's no strict limit on the number of materials you can add, Schoology recommends maintaining 5,000 materials or fewer for optimal performance.

Resource management

Depending on group privacy settings, you can perform various actions on resources. Select the gear icon for the resource and choose an option.

Edit the name, folder color, and description of the item.

Add to course

Import compatible resource types to courses you administer.

Copy to

Create a copy of the resource in another collection.

Move to

Organize items within current collection folders

Delete

Remove the collection.

Resource accessibility varies by mobile platform.

Other items can be accessed via mobile or web browser.

Group management

Create a group

  1. From Group Resources, click the Add Group icon.

  2. Enter the group details.

  3. Click Create.

View the group profile

To the right of the group name, click the View Group Profile icon.

Edit group privacy settings

From the group profile, adjust privacy settings to determine what level of users can review the resources or materials.

  1. Select Group Options and choose Edit Privacy/Group Settings from the list.

  2. Select the visibility level by user or resource. Review the Privacy settings details table for more information.

  3. Optionally, update Other Settings to determine who can create resources.

  4. Click Save Changes.

Depending on the settings in place at your organization, some privacy options may not be accessible. Click Support in the Schoology footer to reach out to your Support Contact for help.

Edit organization resources' privacy settings

  1. Select Resources.

  2. Select Group.

  3. From School Resources, choose a school.

  4. Click the View School Profile icon.

  5. From School Options, choose Edit Privacy.

  6. Select the level of users who can view Materials.

  7. Click Save Changes.

School resource access cannot be restricted for students. To share resources exclusively with faculty, create a group and enroll only faculty members.
