Define filters

Dashboard content is controlled by filters that retrieve data that meets the filters' selection criteria. Individual dashboards, when combined, deliver a comprehensive picture of district, school, and student performance.

There are two different types of filters:

1. Dashboard filters exist under a folder or a dashboard, not under a metric.  These are the filters (tools) the users interact with when they select the Filter Data button to alter their view of the data. 
2. Metric filters have built-in criteria in the metric's definition that cannot be changed by users during their analysis sessions.
