Gainers Stickers Sliders
Who gained, stuck, and slid between ELA testing years?
Color palettes are used in the data cells of this chart to mark cross-tab cells that indicate gaining (green), sticking (orange), and sliding (red). For example, the cross-section of Below Basic last year and Below Basic this year means the student performance did not increase or decrease and is therefore sticking or staying the same. The diagonal acts as a separator between the students that are falling behind (red) and the students that are improving (green). It is a qualitative coloration of the students' performance over two years, not their actual performance for a given year specific to a performance-level coloration.
