Suspension Usage

In-School Suspension Rate

This metric block displays how often ISS is used as an action.  The information is displayed as a percentage and is calculated by taking the total number of times ISS is used as an action and dividing it by the total number of discipline incidents entered into the SIS.  The resulting number shows the percentage of time ISS is utilized as an action.

This metric provides the percentage of time any type of suspension is utilized as an action, broken down by incident group.  Multiple years are included on the metric to allow for easy identification of changes and patterns over time.

Incident Group

The incident group values according to the local district grouping rules.  This requires that the detailed incident codes are mapped into district groups in the SMS or in the DISCIPLINE_OFFENSE_GROUPS domain.

The school year for the related school. 1999-2000, 2000-2001, 2001-2002, etc. Note that dates outside the defined school year are set to School Year of 0.
