Behavior

This page helps district and school administrators and staff understand how to use the Behavior Dashboard to filter, view, and analyze student behavior data. Use it to narrow dashboard results, compare offense details or groupings, and understand which visualizations update as filter selections change.

  • Apply standard filters such as district, school, grade, staff, demographics, programs, and student groups.

  • Use the Offense View filter to switch between individual offense types and district-defined offense groups.

  • Understand how offense-related charts, trends, distributions, and metrics respond to filter changes.

  • Identify notes and requirements, including when offense groups must be configured by the district.

Standard Filters on Behavior Dashboard

The Behavior dashboard filters help users focus the data shown on the Overview page. These standard filter options let users narrow results by district, school, student demographics, and program groupings to better analyze behavior trends.

The standard filter options are:

  • District

  • School Type

  • School

  • Grade

  • Staff

  • Gender

  • Ethnicity

  • SPED

  • ELL

  • Programs

  • Student Group

Offense View Filter

The Offense View filter allows you to switch how offense-related data is displayed throughout the Behavior Dashboard. You can view behavior offensesby:

  • Offense Type – Displays individual offense types recorded in the system.

  • Offense Group – Displays offenses grouped into custom categories defined by your district.

By default, all pages load with Offense Type View.

This filter provides flexibility in analyzing behavior data at a detailed or summary level.

Note: The Offense View filter affects offense-related visualizations only. It does not impact action-related charts or metrics.

  1. Open the Behavior Dashboard.

  2. Locate the Offense View filter.

  3. Select one of the following options:

    • Offense Type – View offenses based on individual offense types.

      • When selected:

        • Visualizations display individual offense types.

        • You can analyze specific behavior offenses recorded in the system.

        • All applicable offense-related charts and metrics use offense type data.

    • Offense Group – View offenses based on offense group classifications.

      • For example, multiple offense types related to theft can be assigned to a single Theft offense group. When you select Offense Group, dashboard visualizations aggregate data based on those group definitions.

        When selected:

        • Offense data is grouped into broader categories.

        • Visualizations display offense groups instead of individual offense types.

        • Data is summarized according to the district's offense group configuration.

Note: Offense groups must be configured by your district before they are available for selection.

The Offense View filter is available across all Behavior Dashboard subpages and updates any visualization that displays offense-related information.
