Improved PowerBuddy age rules in Schoology using student date of birth from your SIS

For districts using a SIS provider other than PowerSchool SIS, students' date of birth is now brought into Schoology automatically as part of nightly provisioning. This gives districts a more accurate and reliable way to determine student age for COPPA‑aligned settings and to apply age‑based rules for PowerBuddy more consistently across all students.

The Birthday field has been removed from the user profile page. This field will no longer be displayed, regardless of whether the date of birth was manually set by the user or synced from Schoology.

Math editor for PowerBuddy Tools

To better support Math and Science content, select PowerBuddy tools now include an integrated math editor. You can create and insert complex equations using a dedicated editor and on‑screen keyboard with advanced mathematical symbols, enabling the generation of accurate, equation‑rich content. The math editor will be available for Math Word Problems, Math Warm‑up Problems, Academic Content, and Classroom Activities in early May, with support expanding to all PowerBuddy tools by the end of May.

Additionally, you can create, edit, and refine equations directly within the generated content, making it easier to work with complex mathematical and scientific material without leaving the tool.
