Configure the 1EdTech TrustEd Apps™ dashboard

Connect the 1EdTech TrustEd Apps Dashboard with Schoology Learning.

Before you begin, ensure that you have:

  • A 1EdTech TrustEd Apps Dashboard

  • LTI launch capability enabled in 1EdTech

  • Required URLs and IDs from 1EdTech

To create developer apps, the Develop apps permission must be enabled for the System Admin role. Configure this permission by selecting Tools, User Management, and then selecting Permissions.

Configure 1EdTech

  1. Sign in to TrustedEd Apps Management Suite as an administrator.

  2. Navigate to Compatibility Check.

  3. Select TrustEd Apps and choose Setup.

  4. From Connection Details, enter the following URLs.

    • Issuer ID: https://schoology.schoology.com

    • OIDC URL: https://lti-service.svc.schoology.com/lti-service/authorize-redirect 

    • JWKS URL: https://lti-service.svc.schoology.com/lti-service/.well-known/jwks 

Enter the Client ID later.

Add the app in Schoology

  1. From Schoology, select the Apps icon, App Center, and then choose My Developer Apps

  2. Select Add App

  3. Enter the form details. Use these suggestions for the required fields: 

    • App name: 1EdTech TrustEd App Dashboard 

    • Description: Provide a brief description of the dashboard. 

    • Category: Select the appropriate category. For Schoology, use Other or Technology

    • Available for: Select Only people in my school

  4. Optionally, upload the 1EdTech TrustEd Apps seal from 1EdTech. 

  5. From Type of App, select LTI 1.3 App, and then add or select the following information. 

      • Can be installed for: Select App center menu.

      • Privacy: Choose Do not send any user information.

      • Domain/URL: Enter the TrustEd Apps Launch URL from the 1EdTech connection details page.

      • OIDC Login Init URL: Enter the TrustEd Apps OIDC Login initiation URL from the 1EdTech connection details page.

      • Redirect URL: Enter the TrustEd Apps Launch URL from the 1EdTech connection details page.

  6. Select the Terms of Use checkbox. 

  7. Select Submit.

  8. From the 1EdTech TrustEd App Dashboard, select Options and choose API Info.

  9. Copy the Client ID, return to the 1EdTech Connect Details page, and paste the content into the Client ID field. 

  10. Confirm that all four fields are complete on the 1EdTech Connection Details page and click Save

Install the app  

  1. From Schoology, select the Apps icon, App Center, and then choose My Developer Apps

  2. Select Install LTI 1.3 App

  3. Select I Agree to proceed with installation. 

  4. Choose Add to Organization

  5. Select Install/Remove.  

  6. Choose All Users, and then select the roles you want to have access to the dashboard.

  7. Select Submit. This installed app will now display in the App Center so you can review your TrustEd apps from the dashboard. If the app does not appear, refresh the page.
