Accessible functionality for drag and drop interactions

Drag and Drop and Picture Drag and Drop interactions now support selecting an option and clicking directly on the desired location to place an option, instead of relying solely on a click and drag motion. This enhancement improves improves accessibility and overall usability by reducing the need to scroll while dragging.

When taking an assessment, students can either use the drag and drop functionality, or they can click on the draggable portion to select it (highlights in blue) and then click on the space where they would like to drop it (all places where it can be dropped are highlighted in green).

Desmos calculator version update

The Desmos integration has been updated from v1.8.0 to v1.11.3, bringing the latest enhancements and functional improvements.

Desmos calculator update (Community article)

Enhanced TX State Calculator to better match state test – student accommodations, Edit Test page, test format settings, and OLA

Teachers can now select a grade-appropriate basic calculator for STAAR practice tests through student accommodations. For Texas customers, the calculator option has been updated to Basic Calculator (Grades 3–7) and Basic Calculator (Grades 8–12), ensuring students use the correct calculator based on their grade level.

  • Teachers can choose between Basic Calculator (Grades 3–7) and Basic Calculator (Grades 8–12) in the calculator configuration settings.

  • Only one calculator option can be selected at a time; selecting one automatically deselects and deactivates the other.

  • Basic Calculator (Grades 3–7): Displays a limited-function calculator without parentheses for students in grades 3–7.

  • Basic Calculator (Grades 8–12): Displays the current basic calculator with parentheses for students in grades 8–12.

  • If no selection is made, the system defaults to Basic Calculator (Grades 8–12).

  • The selected calculator setting is saved, persists across sessions, and overrides the test-level setting.

This enhancement improves alignment with STAAR expectations and provides a consistent, grade-appropriate testing experience.

File validation for observational assessment measure uploads

Uploads for measures now support only the following file types: .bmp, .doc, .docx, .gif, .htm, .html, .pdf, .jpeg, .jpg, .mov, .mp3, .mp4, .png, .ppt, .pptx, .svg, .txt, .uri, .xls, and .zip.

Observational Assessment Score Summary report

Standards Explorer: item counts, filters, and unaligned content

The Standards Explorer now offers a clearer view of item coverage by standard. The updated layout displays item counts next to each standard, supports multi‑select filters (provider, bank, interaction type, DOK), and includes an “Unaligned Content” row to surface items without standards. A new Assessment Item Breakdown view, along with improved search and export options, makes it easier to identify coverage gaps and take informed action.

Resolved issues

The following table highlights the key issues resolved in this release.

Summary

Description

Adding accommodations to all course types

Resolved an issue where adding an accommodation with all course types selected resulted in an error. Accommodations now save correctly when all course types are selected.

Discipline codes repopulating

Resolved an issue where discipline codes were repopulating after being removed from EWS rule. Discipline code changes now persist as expected.

Error message for duplicate rubrics in an item

Resolved an issue where the same rubric could be added more than once within an item, either in a single instructions block or across multiple blocks, without triggering the expected error message. This allowed items with duplicate rubrics to be saved and submitted, resulting in unexpected scoring behavior.

The system now displays an error message whenever a duplicate rubric is added, preventing items from being saved or submitted with multiple instances of the same rubric.

Incorrect decimal rounding for partial credit items

Resolved an issue where decimal values in items with partial credit were displayed beyond the intended place value in Item Preview and Online Scoring. Decimal values are now correctly rounded to the appropriate place value in both views when scores are entered.

PDF files submitted through the upload interaction will not open

Resolved an issue where student-uploaded PDFs in Online Scoring could not be opened consistently. PDF links now open as expected.

Read Aloud issues in Table Selection interactions

Resolved issues where Read Aloud in Table Selection interactions did not behave as expected. The reader now reads only the updated pronunciation text, correctly reads MathML when used in answer choices, and no longer reads background formatting content (such as spacing added for layout). This ensures clearer and more accurate audio output for table-based items.

Screen reader reading HTML entities in table answer choices

Resolved multiple accessibility issues affecting screen reader behavior in table‑based interactions. The screen reader now ignores HTML entities such as non‑breaking spaces, no longer announces background formatting content, reads the row header before each column header, reads only the updated pronunciation text, and correctly handles MathML in answer choices. These improvements provide clearer, more accurate, and non‑repetitive audio output.

Unable to save Number Line items with updated pronunciation

Resolved an issue where items containing a Number Line interaction with updated pronunciation could not be saved and triggered an “Unknown application error.” Items with Number Line interactions now save correctly when updated pronunciation is applied.
