Administer schools

Organization-level and school-level administration

To manage schools, all users must be assigned to a school. After adding schools, System Admins at the organization level can administer all users from Manage Users in User Management.

Adding schools also enables the System Admin role at the school level. School-level system admins administer all users in their school from Manage Users. However, school-level system admins do not have access to the following tools:

  • Roles

  • Permissions

  • Privacy overrides

  • Integration

  • Support Contacts

The permissions and settings controlled in the above areas are established on an organization-wide basis only. The organization-level System Admin sits above all school-level System Admins and has access to all schools and all organization-wide settings.

Privacy Overrides

After schools are added, Privacy Overrides in School Management includes Organization and School options. These settings determine whether users can access content across the organization or only within their assigned school.

Privacy Overrides can be configured for:

  • Course Privacy Settings

  • Group Privacy Settings

  • User Privacy Settings

  • User Accounts

Organization-level system admins manage these settings. School-level system admins do not have access to Privacy Overrides.
