Schoology Learning

Customize branding

Schoology can display your organization's logo and color scheme in the navigation bar and throughout the interface. Your PowerSchool representative handles the branding setup. If you need to update branding after onboarding, contact PowerSchool Support.

What you need to provide

Gather the following before contacting your PowerSchool representative:

  • Your organization's logo file

  • Hex codes for your navigation bar color and hyperlink color

If you don't have these, contact the appropriate team at your organization:

  • K–12: Central Office Graphic Designer or Tech Department

  • Higher education: Department of Communications, Marketing, or Publications

  • Corporate: Marketing or Social Media team

Logo requirements

  • Size: between 160×40 and 160×60 pixels

  • Must be legible against a medium to dark background

  • Transparent background preferred

  • File format: JPG or PNG

The logo replaces the Schoology name and logo in the top-left corner. Tall or vertical logos may not display as expected due to the limited height of this space.

Color requirements

You must provide hex codes for two colors:

  • Navigation bar background: Must have a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 for accessibility.

  • Hyperlinks: Displayed on a white background and must also have a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1.

Use an accessibility checker to verify contrast ratios before submitting. If the colors you provide don't meet the minimum contrast ratio, PowerSchool’s design team will adjust them.

Find hex codes

  • Mac: Use the built-in Digital Color Meter app.

  • Windows 10: Use the eyedropper tool in the built-in Paint 3D app.

  • Google Chrome: Install a color picker extension from the Chrome Web Store.

  • Branding guide: Hex codes are six characters made up of numbers 0–9 and letters A–F, preceded by a #. For example, black is #000000.
