Redesigned assessment creation experience in Controlled Availability

Districts can now opt in to the Controlled Availability (CA) release of the redesigned assessment creation experience in Performance Matters. Available from the Tests menu through New Assessment, this experience streamlines authoring workflows and provides a foundation for future enhancements.

As part of the CA program, participating districts will also have access to the new item creation beta experience. This capability is currently available only within the redesigned assessment creation experience and provides a modernized workflow for creating assessment items.

Districts participating in the CA release will continue to have access to the existing test creation workflow, available from the Tests menu through New Test. The redesigned experience supports backward compatibility, allowing users to create and manage assessments in the new workflow while continuing to review and validate them in the existing workflow if desired. While not required, this flexibility enables districts to adopt the updated experience at their own pace while maintaining familiarity with current processes. To open an assessment in the redesigned experience, go to Assessment Manager, open the Actions menu (three dots) for the assessment or test, and select Open in New Assessment Editor.

The CA release allows participating districts to begin using the redesigned assessment creation experience while retaining access to existing workflows. Districts interested in participating should submit a support ticket to request access and receive next steps for enablement.

QTI 2.2 upgrade

Support added for importing IMS Global QTI (IMS Question & Test Interoperability) specified content into Performance Matters Assessment, for QTI version 2.2.

Score Summary access update for Observational Assessments

Accessing the Score Summary report for closed Observational Assessments is now available in Assessment Manager, by clicking on the icon in the Students Scored column.

Ignore Speech formatting

Resolved an issue where applying or removing Ignore Speech in the editor could alter paragraph structure and formatting. To help preserve formatting, apply Ignore Speech separately to text that uses different paragraph alignments (for example, left-aligned and centered paragraphs).

MathML equation color change error

Resolved an issue in the item editor where applying a color to a MathML equation triggered an "Unknown Application Error" regardless of the order in which the equation and color were selected.
