ContentNav Library/Schoology

Filter menu updates

  • Updated filter menu to use PowerSchool stylings

  • The filter menu includes collapsable sections

  • Result counts are included next to filter options

  • Selected filters result in a display of removable filter pills

  • The filter called “Products” was renamed to “Catalogs” for consistency

  • OER Content was tagged to additional ELA standards

Improved the material Add/Save process

  • Replaced the Save button with the Select button on a material card. This enables the selection of one or many materials from the CN library.

  • Added an Add button in the CN library to designate where selected materials are added (Schoology or to a Playlist)

  • A user can now Add materials to a playlist or to Schoology from the Preview page of a material

  • Added a Clear selections functionality to bulk de-select materials in the library.

  • Increased the Material Title limit from 50 characters to 500 characters when editing materials to accommodate the larger titles.

Playlist drawer enhancements

  • Playlist drawer updated with PowerSchool stylings

  • Ability to create new playlists directly from the Playlist drawer.

  • Clear confirmation messaging displays when a material or materials are added to a playlist.

  • Ability to text-based search for playlists within the playlist drawer.

  • Ability to add multiple materials to a playlist, remove individually selected materials, or clear all

Improved add Playlists to Catalogs process

  • Ability to add a Playlist to a Catalog when editing the Playlist Settings in the ContentNav library

  • The Published status of a Playlist will be updated based on whether the Playlist has been added to a Catalog. Playlists outside of Catalogs are unpublished; Playlists added to Catalogs are Published

ContentNav Admin

Removed unnecessary menu options from Admin portal Setup

  • Page navigation is limited to only relevant options for ContentNav Tenants: Attribute Settings and Integration Settings

Enabled the ability to manage the visibility of Catalogs

  • A tenant admin now has the option to mark a Catalog of their creation as Private, which will hide it from view from other tenants when they browse Catalogs.

  • A tenant admin can manage the privacy setting

Improved Attribute Settings

  • The Filter, Product, was renamed Catalogs for consistency within ContentNav.

  • The Attribute, Content Area, was created to support filtering for content.

  • The OER content toggle was removed.

Changes to OER Content management

  • OER content was categorized into Catalogs in the same way other content is made available.

  • OER content is grouped into 5 content catalogs, including one catalog, OER content, which houses all OER content not tied to a specific publisher.

Resolved issues

Library improvements

  • The Material share link no longer underlaps with the filter menu.

  • The External Content material counts that were being displayed when a user searched for materials within My Content, was resolved.

  • Resolved an issue regarding the Preview functionality launching the incorrect material.

  • Removed material types from the Create menu that are not supported in Schoology.

Content viewing within Schoology

  • The information button at the bottom of the Playlist screen when viewed in Schoology is clearly labeled Information and the description does not overlap the button when launched.

  • Resolved an issue with some videos not playing when launched within Schoology.

  • Resolved an issue with launching LTI content for instructors.

  • The Open button to launch content is visible without scrolling on shorter screens.

Content ingestion improvements

  • Resolved an issue where large video files were failing to upload due to Material URLs not being generated. Materials within the file size limits can be uploaded successfully.

  • Resolved an issue where materials with long names were not imported. The character limit on Materials is increased to 500 characters.
