Overview
The new Google Assignments app integrates with Google Workspace LTI, allowing instructors to create Google assignments directly in Schoology. Students can work on and submit assignments in Google assignments. The instructor can then provide feedback and grade the submissions without leaving Schoology.
If you are currently using the Google Drive Assignment app by Schoology, you are encouraged to migrate to the Google Assignments app by Google. The Google Drive Assignment app by Schoology will be deprecated in the future.
The Google Assignments app is not supported on the Schoology mobile app.

Assignment locking is supported. When the teacher locks the assignment, students will still be able to make changes in the Google material, but submissions can no longer be pushed into the Schoology assignment submission pane. |

Overdue behavior |
After the due date, the assignment will be displayed in the student’s overdue list and applicable email notifications will be generated. While students are designated as Missing within the Google assignment view after the due date, this will not be displayed as an exception in the Schoology gradebook. The assignment will function as a native Schoology assignment and will be removed after a student makes a submission. For more information on removing overdue items, refer to the article How to Remove Overdue Notifications. |
