Usage Analytics provides data about user activity and course materials in your organization. Access it by selecting Usage Analytics from Tools.

Analytics data may be up to 24 hours old.

Activity from the Schoology mobile app is included in the dashboard.

Usage Analytics does not include Managed Assessments (AMP) data. Assessment activity and results are available in Assessment Reports.

Administrators with the View School Analytics permission can access data only for buildings associated with their account.

Filter options
Use filters to refine data on the dashboard.

Schools |
Filters data by buildings associated with your account. If only one building is associated with your account, this filter is not available. If multiple buildings are selected, the dashboard displays cumulative data for those buildings. |

Role Type |
Filters data by user role. All roles in your organization are available. |

Date Range |
Filters data by a custom date range or a preset range: Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days, or Last 12 Months. The maximum date range is 13 months. |
Review active users
This feature is in limited availability.
The Active Users view displays unique users who had an active session during the selected date range.

Each unique user is counted once.

Roles are displayed in alphabetical order.

The usage chart displays active users by role over time.
Review sessions
The Sessions view displays user sign-ins, sign-outs, and returns to Schoology after 30 minutes of inactivity.
The Sessions by Role table displays totals by role for the selected date range.
Review course materials created
The Course Materials Created chart displays the total number of course materials created in descending order.
This chart is only affected by the Schools and Date Range filters. The Role filter and Active Users and Sessions views do not affect this chart.
Review course materials breakdown
The Course Materials Breakdown table displays cumulative submission and view counts for course materials. Materials are displayed in descending order.
This table is only affected by the Schools and Date Range filters. The Role filter and Active Users and Sessions views do not affect this table.
Use Course Analytics for detailed course-level activity, such as which students accessed materials or submitted assignments.
