MTSS Interventions

Intervention Notes Summary

On the Notes page of an intervention, you can now view a consolidated summary of all notes across the intervention timeline. When a student filter is applied, the summary highlights notes for that student.

MTSS Interventions

Enhanced Student Goal Setting and Tracking

Updated the MTSS Intervention module to give you more flexibility and precision in tracking student progress. You can personalize goals for each student, set dynamic tracking zones, and manage multiple goals easily.

Where to find these updates: MTSS Intervention → Open an Intervention → Student Overview → Goals Tab

Personalized Goal Setting

  • Student-Level Goals: You can now create custom goals for individual students directly within an intervention (available for users with Intervention Browser access and above).

  • Customizable Target Values: To better differentiate instruction, you can now edit the target values of a goal for each individual student, provided your administrator has enabled this setting.

  • Advanced Goal Conditions: You can now set specific criteria for both numeric and text-based goals using conditions like "greater than" (>), "greater than or equal to" (>=), "contains," or "starts with."

  • Bulk Goal Assignment: Save time by assigning a specific goal to multiple students at once using the new "Add goal" option under the Bulk Actions menu.

Goal Completion & Progress Tracking

  • Mark as "Done": You can now mark individual goals as completed to better track a student's success over time.

  • Student Progress Bar: A new progress bar is located at the top right of every student card. This provides a quick visual snapshot of how many goals the student has completed out of their total assigned goals.

  • Streamlined Workspace: To keep your screen clutter-free, clicking "Done" on a goal will automatically hide that row.

  • "Show Done" Toggle: Need to review past achievements? You can quickly reveal all hidden, completed goals by clicking the "Show done" option.

Improved Tracking and Visualization

  • Visual Target Zones: Upgraded the standard "target line" to a comprehensive "Target Zone." This shaded area automatically shows your goal's specific conditions and appears on the graphs in the Student Overview page, making it easier to see if a student is on track.

  • Streamlined Goal Display: The interface now handles multiple goals more easily. Custom student-level goals stack neatly below broader plan-level cascaded goals.

Flexible Goal Management

  • Drag-and-Drop Prioritization: In the Intervention Plan, you can drag and rearrange goals to set their priority.

  • Quick Removal and Addition: You can remove plan-related goals from a student's profile. To add them back, use the "Add goal" option under each student's card.

  • Mandatory Plan Goals: Administrators can now designate certain goals as mandatory to align with district or school standards. These required goals cannot be deleted from a student's plan.

MTSS Interventions

Quick Actions & Menu Updates

Added one-click shortcuts to log intervention data faster.

  • Streamlined Menus: Action menus across all tabs are now categorized into Quick actions, Bulk actions, and Other actions.

  • Fast Attendance & Time Logging: Use Mark all present to instantly update all enrolled students. To log time, click Add [X] min to all (this automatically uses the recommended time from your intervention plan) or Add time (for untimed interventions, adjustable in 5-minute increments).

  • Fast Observation Logging: Quickly record positive engagement for all enrolled students by clicking Mark all engaged.

MTSS Interventions

Goal Tracking Updates

  • New Tracking Formats: Track progress using Percentages or four predefined Bands (Advanced, Proficient, Developing, Beginning).

  • Visual Band Tracking: Student graphs now display all four band levels for easy visual tracking.

  • Quick Scoring: Save time by entering student scores directly from the Student Overview page.

MTSS Interventions

Intervention Printing Updates

  • Customizable Demographics: Choose exactly what student information to include on your printed reports using new checkboxes for details like ELL and IEP status.

  • Print Session Details: You can now include detailed data for each individual session by selecting "Session details" under Advanced settings.

  • No Print Limits: The limit on how many students you can print reports for at one time has been removed. (Tip: To ensure faster processing times, we still recommend printing smaller batches of students when possible).

MTSS Student Plans

Data Domain Refresh Unavailable for Inactive Student Plans

Previously, editing a student plan for an inactive student could trigger a data domain refresh (e.g., Demographics), returning blank values because the student's active data was unavailable. This caused confusion and risked data loss in the plan.

What Changed:

  • The Refresh action on data domain components is now disabled when the associated student is inactive.

  • A tooltip is displayed: "Refresh unavailable because the student is inactive."

Platform (UIHN)

Dynamic Formatting Improved for Chart Labels and Titles

Fixed an issue where Highcharts axis labels on dashboards did not adjust dynamically when label text was too long. Labels failed to rotate from horizontal to vertical, and some were truncated, causing chart labels and legends to overlap, especially on larger screens.

What Changed

The existing Axis Label Overflow property (found when editing a dimension column on a Highchart) has been enhanced to support 1st tier labels in addition to the previously supported 2nd tier+ labels:

  • Auto (default): No change in behavior , 1st-level labels operate as before (wrap first, then ellipsis if needed).

  • Ellipsis: Labels are now truncated with ellipsis immediately when they overflow, without wrapping. Full text is available via a tooltip on hover.

  • Rotate: Continues to apply only to 2nd tier+ labels

Behavior Analytics

Offense Times Display Correctly in Behavior Overview

An issue in Dashboards, Student Analytics, Behavior, and Behavior Overview affected the “When are offenses occurring?” metric. Offenses now display under the correct offense time.

The fix involved reviewing log entry flags to identify the correct offense time field and updating the connector code, ensuring accurate behavior insights.
