Security roles for improvement plans

Use the following security roles to grant your staff members access to improvement plans.

Security role	Plan access	Template access
Improvement Plans Viewer	Read access To improvement plans if the plan district matches the staff member's associated district. To non-secured plans when the staff member has permission to view the staff information. Cannot create or edit plans.	Read access If the template district matches the staff member's associated district or if there is no associated district. Cannot create or edit templates.
Improvement Plans Author	Read access To improvement plans if the plan district matches the staff member's associated district. To non-secured plans when the staff member has permission to view the staff information. Create plans For staff to which the user has access. Staff must be in plan district. If creating a plan from a secure template, can add the user to plan membership. Edit If the plan district matches a user-associated district. If the template is secure, the user must be associated with the plan. If the template is non-secured, the plan must be for a staff to which the user has access.	Read access If the template district matches the staff member's associated district or if there is no associated district. Cannot create or edit templates.
Improvement Plans District Manager	Read access If the plan district matches a user-associated district. If the template is secure, the user must be associated with the plan. If the template is non-secured, the plan must be for a staff to which the user has access. Create plan Associated with a user associated district Create plan for staff to which the user has access and staff must be in plan district. If creating a plan from a secure template, add the user to plan membership. Staff assigned to plan must belong to district selected for plan. Edit If the plan district matches a user-associated district. If the template is secure, the user must be associated with the plan. If the template is non-secured, the plan must be for a staff to which the user has access.	Read access If the template district list contains a user-associated district or is empty. Create template Template associated with a user-associated district. Can create a template set as Is Secure. Edit If Template district matches a user-associated district. Can update existing template to Is Secure. Cannot edit state-level templates. Cannot set a non-state level template to be state level.
Improvement Plans District Administrator	Read access If the plan district matches a user associated district. Create plan Associated with a user associated district. Can create template set as Is Secure. Always Edit Can update existing template to be state level or Is Secure.
