Communicate SafeArrival

Release Note

Rewording of time-zone mismatch error

Previously, when a district had “SIS API: Use Period Time” turned on, and there was an absence in the attendance file for a later period in the day (past the current time), it triggered a confusing “timezone mismatch” error.
Future period absences no longer trigger this error. If needed, users will instead see a clear informational warning that same-day future period absences are present, while attendance broadcasts continue to process as expected.

Uploaded files were previously attached to unrelated students

Previously, in some circumstances, editing an absence with an attachment and then editing another student’s absence caused the first student’s attachment to appear on the second student’s record.
Now, attachments stay with the correct student record. Editing multiple absences no longer causes files to be copied or reassigned to other students.

Login redirects to SchoolMessenger Communicate

For security, any direct SafeArrival login attempts will be redirected to the main SchoolMessenger Communicate login page. From there, users can select System, and then choose SafeArrival to log in directly. This offers a more secure and effective way to manage access by reducing the points of entry to a single login page.

CSV version of the daily attendance report matches the PDF version

Previously, the CSV report from SafeArrival only showed explained absences, while the PDF report included all attendance activity. This made it hard to analyze the full set of daily data.
A full CSV report is now available that mirrors the content of the PDF report, giving staff a complete overview of daily attendance activity for reporting and analysis.
