Districts using a supported student information system (SIS), including eSchoolPLUS, Skyward, Aeries, Infinite Campus, or PowerSchool, can automatically create parent accounts in Schoology through the SIS sync. For most supported systems, parent and child associations are created automatically as part of the sync, provided that students have already been associated with their guardians in the SIS.
Use this method if your district uses a supported SIS and has configured the SIS app in Schoology.
-
Set up and distribute Parent Access Codes if your SIS does not support parent provisioning or you have not configured the sync.
-
Import parent accounts and parent-child associations if you have parent data in a file but are not syncing from a SIS.
-
Manually associate parent and student accounts for a small number of individual account links.

The SIS app must be installed and configured in your Schoology system.
eSchoolPLUS: Additional steps required
If you use eSchoolPLUS, parent accounts are created via the sync but are not automatically associated with their children. After the sync creates the parent accounts, you must complete one of the following steps to establish parent-child associations:
-
Import parent-child associations using a CSV or XLS file.
-
Distribute Parent Access Codes so parents can self-link to their child's account.
