Recycle bins

Account recycle bin

Your account recycle bin stores deleted resources from your personal resources.

Review deleted personal resources

  1. Click your name and select Settings.

  2. Select Recycle Bin.

Restore a resource

  • Deleted Resources folders cannot be retrieved, but resources inside the folders can be restored from the recycle bin.

  • Deleted question banks for tests, quizzes, and AMP and item banks for assessments cannot be restored.

  1. Click your name and select Settings.

  2. Select Recycle Bin.

  3. Hover over the item to restore and click the gear icon.

  4. Select Restore to.

  5. Choose the Resource collection and folder where you'd like to restore the template.

  6. Click Restore.

Courses recycle bin

The courses recycle bin stores deleted course sections. You may delete any course you've created, and depending on the settings in place at your school, you may be able to delete additional courses.

Review deleted courses

  1. Select Courses.

  2. Select My Courses.

  3. Select Deleted Courses. This option is only displayed at the beginning of the page when courses have been deleted.

  4. Review the course and section name and the date and time of its deletion.

Restore a course

  1. Select Courses.

  2. Select My Courses.

  3. Select Deleted Courses.

  4. Click all courses or a specific course to restore. 

  5. Click Restore.

  6. Click Restore again to confirm.

Course materials recycle bin

The course materials recycle bin stores deleted course materials including assignments, quizzes, files, links, discussions, albums, and pages. You may delete any material in a course you administer.

Reiew deleted course materials

  1. Navigate to a course.

  2. From Course Options, select Course Options.

  3. Select Recycle Bin.

Restore course materials

Course Materials can be restored, along with any submissions, comments, grades, and settings for that material.

If you've deleted folders of materials, the folders and structure cannot be retrieved, but individual materials inside of the folders are listed in the recycle bin.

  1. Hover over the material you'd like to restore.

  2. Click the gear that appears to the right of the material.

  3. Select the option Restore to...

  4. If there are folders in the course, you can restore the material to a specific folder.

  5. Click Restore to complete.

Groups recycle bin

The Groups Recycle Bin stores deleted groups. You may delete any group you've created, and depending on the settings in place at your school, you may be able to delete additional groups.

Review deleted groups

  1. Click the Groups area on the top menu.

  2. Select My Groups.

  3. If you deleted a group, a Deleted Groups link displays in gray in the top-right of the page.

Click the link to view your deleted groups, including information such as the group name and the date and time of its deletion.

Restore a group

  1. Check the box to the left of the group.

  2. To select all groups, check the box in the Groups title row.

  3. Click Restore.

  4. In the pop-up menu, click Restore again to complete.

Group resources recycle bin

The Group Resources Recycle Bin stores deleted group resources (templates of Assignments, Quizzes, Files/Links, Discussions, Pages). You may delete any resource in a group you administer.

Review deleted group resources

  1. Enter a group.

  2. Click Group Options.

  3. Select Recycle Bin.

Restore Group Resources

  1. If you've deleted folders of resources, the folders cannot be retrieved, but resources inside of the folders will be listed in the recycle bin.

  2. Hover over the template you'd like to restore.

  3. Click on the gear that appears to the right of the template.

  4. Select the option to Restore.

Deleted question banks (Test/Quiz and AMP) and item banks (Assessment) cannot be restored.

View deleted updates and comments

Updates and comments that have been deleted from courses and groups are listed separately in the Moderation area. These deletions cannot be restored. 

  1. Navigate to a course or group.

  2. Click Course/Group Options.

  3. Select Moderate Posts.

  4. If Moderation is enabled, click Deleted to view the deleted updates or comments. If Moderation is disabled, deleted updates/comments will be the default view.
