Use the document viewer
Overview
The document viewer allows students to review their documents and educators to annotate student assignment submissions directly through their Schoology accounts. To access the document viewer, open a document or submission.

Educator grading features
Educators have enhanced annotation and grading features.

Assignment grading | Click grade cells to access rubrics or enter a grade |
Test markup | Highlight or strikeout selected text |
Annotations | Draw or add notes directly on the document |
Revision tracking | Annotations are automatically saved and posted to students |
Optionally, right-click in the document viewer to access controls.
Submission activity
Instructors can review the date and time of submission in two ways:
At the beginning of the document
From the Submission Activity panel
Comments
Instructors and students can add comments in two ways:
Note icon
Add notes directly to the document.
Notes appear in the revisions panel.
Use the Revision Notes icon to show or hide notes.
Submission Activity area
Add notes, comments, or questions about the assignment.
Attach files or audio recordings.
Sends notifications to both student and educator.
Notes added to the document using the Notes icon do not send a notification.

iOS: Version 3.11.0 and above
Compatibility limitations
Annotations made before 2017 are not supported
Submissions display a red X when using older app versions
Compatibility resolutions
To resolve compatibility issues, update to the latest version of the Schoology app from:
