PowerSchool SIS custom field mapping reference | PowerSchool Learning and Engagement

By default, Schoology uses standard fields such asStudent_Web_ID for student usernames and TeacherLoginID for staff usernames. Custom settings allow administrators to override default mapping sources.

Custom field mappings require PowerSchool SIS 24.12+ or higher with the Schoology SIS Adapter V2 plugin installed and enabled. Ensure that custom database extensions (U_DEF_EXT_*) are active before configuring custom mappings.

User field customization

In the PowerSchool SIS app in Schoology, select the Users tab.
Select Custom Settings and choose Customize mapping preferences.
Select Sync teacher emails from PowerSchool into Schoology to ensure email address accuracy.
Select Save Custom Settings.

Regional additional name fields (Thai and Arabic)

For organizations operating in Thai or Arabic regions on PowerSchool SIS 24.12+ or higher with the V2 plugin enabled, custom field mapping supports additional regional name fields:

PowerSchool SIS Field	Target Schoology field	Mapping behavior and regional display rules
Prefix	Title	Mapped directly to the user's Title field in Schoology (recommended for Thai regions).
Nickname	Preferred First Name	Mapped to Preferred First Name. If the Schoology display option Display both First Name and Preferred Name is selected, the nickname displays in brackets at the end of the user's name.
Third Name	Middle Name	Mapped to Middle Name in Schoology. The field captures both Middle Name and Third Name, separated by a space (recommended for Arabic regions).

Course section customization

Administrators can customize section naming conventions by opening the Section tab, selecting Custom Mapping, and choosing between Sections.SectionNumber and Sections.Expression.

Section expression display rules

Section.Expression	Section Name / Title Suffix	Combines period and day expression (e.g., `1(A-B)` or `3(Q1)`) to distinguish semester sections.
Students.DCID (Prefixed 1_)	Schoology User Unique ID	Student internal identifier formatted with prefix `1_` to prevent collision with staff IDs.
Users.DCID (Prefixed 2_)	Schoology User Unique ID	Staff internal identifier formatted with prefix `2_`.

Students

Field name	Details
Students.DCID	Unique database ID in PowerSchool. Displayed in Schoology Unique ID column prepended with `1_`.
Students.Student_Number	Official student number record from PowerSchool SIS.
Students.Student_Web_ID	Default student username field (PowerSchool student portal login).

Staff

Field name	Details
Teachers.DCID	Unique database ID for teachers. Displayed in Schoology Unique ID column prepended with `2_`.
Teachers.TeacherNumber	Official staff identification number from PowerSchool SIS.
Teachers.TeacherLoginId	Default teacher username field (PowerSchool admin or teacher portal login).

Sections

Field name	Details
Sections.SectionNumber	PowerSchool section number. Schoology prepends Section, such as Section 101.
Sections.Expression	Schedule expression field, such as course English 101 with expression 3(A) displays as English 101: 3(A).
