Example calculation

Multiple choice

[(value of the percentage ÷ the number of correct choices) × the number of selected correct choices] - [(Value of the percentage ÷ the number of correct choices) × the number of selected incorrect choices] = partial match value

There are four choices total and three correct choices. A student selects three correct responses and one incorrect response.

[(100 ÷ 3) × 3] - [(100 ÷ 3) × 1] = 67
If the question is worth 10 points, the student receives 6.67 points.

Matching

(value of the percentage ÷ the number of pairs) × (the number of correctly matched pairs) = partial match value

There are four possible matched pairs, and the student matches three pairs correctly and one pair incorrectly.

(100 ÷ 4) × 3 = 75
If the question is worth 10 points, the student receives 7.5 points.

Fill in the blank text

(value of the percentage ÷ the number of blanks) × the number of selected correct responses = partial match value

There are four blanks, and a student enters three correct responses and one incorrect response.

(100 ÷ 4) × 3 = 75
If the question is worth 10 points, the student receives 7.5 points.

Fill in the blank dropdown

(value of the percentage ÷ the number of blanks) × the number of selected correct responses = partial match value

There are four possible correct responses, and a student selects three correct responses and one incorrect response.

(100 ÷ 4) × 3 = 75
If the question is worth 10 points, the student receives 7.5 points.

Fill in the blank drag and drop

(value of the percentage ÷ the number of blanks) × the number of selected correct responses = partial match value

There are four blanks, and a student selects three correct responses and one incorrect response.

(100 ÷ 4) × 3 = 75
If the question is worth 10 points, the student receives 7.5 points. ]

Highlight text

(value of the percentage ÷ the number of possible correct highlights) × the number of selected correct highlights = partial match value

There are four possible correct highlights, and a student selects three correct responses and one incorrect response.

(100 ÷ 4) × 3 = 75
If the question is worth 10 points, the student receives 7.5 points.

Label image

(value of the percentage ÷ the number of response boxes) × the number of selected correct responses = partial match value
